Madan Raj Joshi

Madan previously worked as the Country Director for Freedom Matters in Nepal. He continues to support our work in a consultancy capacity. He has over 20 years' experience within the Nepal development sector spanning appointments within NGOs, INGOs and UN agencies. These include three years at UNICEF, eight at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) country office Nepal and eight years at Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN), a national NGO. He was an awardee of ADB Japan-IRRI (International Rice Research Institute) research scholarship during 1999-2001 for his postgraduate degree in the University of the Philippines at Los Banos, The Philippines.

Madan has designed and implemented various action projects in Nepal particularly in the field of skills and livelihood enhancement of marginalised communities, youth employment, child labour and trafficking, social research and impact assessments. He is passionate about contributing towards the national and international fight against child labour and trafficking.
